In partnership with Dar Al atta’a Association, Muscat City Centre and City Centre Qurum collected basic, everyday items throughout Ramadan and Eid to support the needy
Oman, 11 September, 2012 – Together, Muscat City Centre and City Centre Qurum were able to celebrate the success of the annual Majid al Futtaim Properties group-wide ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ collection drive which ran through Ramadan and Eid, with 10,500 useful items being donated to a local charity. Truly a sign of the generosity of the surrounding local communities, the fourth consecutive year of the initiative saw a collection of everyday articles to help those less privileged.
The ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ campaign encouraged residents in the community to donate nonperishable food , reading glasses , books and mobile phones. In addition, a large quantity of other beneficial items such as clothes, shoes, toys and watches were collected. All donations will be supplied to the non-profit organization Dar Al Atta Association, which will ultimately distribute the entirety to disadvantaged families and individuals across the Sultanate.
Commenting on the success of this year’s outstanding total, Senior Mall Manager, Muscat City Centre, Husam Al Mandhari said, “The charitable response from visitors and locals in Muscat and Qurum has been overwhelming, reflecting the true spirit of the holy month. We are thrilled to see the awareness increase for Dar Al atta’a Association and to support their humanitarian efforts across the community. Furthermore, Watfa Humaid Al Harthy, Senior Mall Manager for City Centre Qurum said, “We are continually humbled by the generous donations from our customers and we look forward to building on the success for 2013”.
